Living with diabetes can affect almost every part of life, including relationships, work, school, sleep, body image, and emotional wellbeing. The ongoing demands of monitoring, treatment decisions, medical appointments, and managing other people’s expectations can become exhausting.
Psychological support provides space to address diabetes distress, anxiety, treatment fatigue, emotional adjustment, and the impact of diabetes on everyday life.
Working with Nicole Jarvis means receiving practical, evidence-based support from someone who understands the distinct pressures of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Her advanced clinical psychology training and experience supporting people across the lifespan allow her to shape therapy around each person’s needs and experience of diabetes.

I am drawn to diabetes psychology because diabetes asks so much of a person, every day. The decisions keep coming, the vigilance rarely switches off, and the mental load can feel relentless.
My work focuses on what it is actually like to live with that pressure. I support people when diabetes begins to dominate their thoughts, disrupt everyday life, or make treatment feel overwhelming. My approach is warm and practical, with therapy shaped around the person rather than a generic idea of what diabetes management should look like.
I work with people across different ages and stages of life, as well as parents and families affected by the demands of diabetes. I have a particular interest in the psychological impact of diabetes across the lifespan. I understand the challenges that can arise around identity, body image, sleep, relationships, school, and work.
With my Master of Clinical Psychology nearing completion, I provide evidence-based psychological support through Endeavour Psychology in Geelong and Australia-wide via telehealth.
I support people living with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. I recognise that these are different experiences, with distinct treatment demands, challenges, and communities. Therapy is shaped around your experience of diabetes rather than assuming that one approach fits everyone.
Yes. I support children, adolescents, adults, and families. I enjoy supporting children and adolescents. At Endeavour Psychology, I have access to a dedicated play therapy suite where children can communicate and engage in ways that feel natural and developmentally appropriate.
My experience includes working with children and adolescents in primary and secondary school settings. This helps me understand how emotional wellbeing, health needs, learning, friendships, and family life can intersect for a young person living with diabetes.
No. You can book an appointment directly without a referral. If you would like me to communicate with your GP, endocrinologist, or diabetes educator, I can provide updates with your consent.
While I complete the final stages of my Master of Clinical Psychology, I offer 50-minute sessions for $125. A reduced fee of $85 is available for people with a pension or concession card.
I practise at Endeavour Psychology in Geelong West, where I offer in-person appointments. Telehealth appointments are also available Australia-wide.
